Join us for our Burn Cottage wine dinner with Burn Cottage’s Andy Crozier, a vertical of fine Central Otago Pinot Noirs to match Chef Chung King Leung’s masterful cuisine at Lai Bun Fu. This dinner is a classic East meets West (or more accurately, East meets South) event. Andy has dipped into the estate’s cellars to bring us a range of vintages from this rising star. There is also a wonderfully idiosyncratic estate-grown white – a blend of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner which we will show for the first time in Hong Kong.
The 2014 tied for top place honours in Decanter’s Vintage Report of 2014 New Zealand Pinot Noirs. That Burn Cottage achieved that (and many other accolades) in just its 6th vintage (we shall taste the inaugural 2009) is testament to the quality of the terroir and the team in place. Owner Marquis Sauvage put Ted Lemon (of Littorai and Roulot fame) in charge, and right from the start the estate was conceived on biodynamic principles.
I was so impressed with the estate’s ethos, the quality of its site, its team, and its wines on a visit early last year that I knew this agency was for us. So I am excited about this opportunity to dive deeper with you. We shall experience the wines’ great versatility with Hong Kongese/Cantonese cuisine at its very best.
